How births are handled
TPR rooms let you go through labour, birth and the first hours afterwards in one room, without moving between floors — for many mothers that matters more than a clinic’s reputation. The clinic also handles high-risk pregnancies, including with diabetes or obesity, and offers pre-conception advice. Rules on pain relief, companions and tours are not published online — ask your doctor and when booking.
Neonatal care
Neonatology has about 30 places and admits around 500 newborns a year. It offers conventional and high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide and parenteral nutrition. If your pregnancy carries a risk of preterm birth, this is one of the strong options.
Birth registration on site
The city’s list of Civil Registry offices includes a “Trinidad Palermo” office (8:30–13:30). It registers the birth before discharge and starts the DNI, which is mailed home. Confirm on site where exactly the office is. Parents who do not speak Spanish need a sworn translator — see “Sworn translation”; next steps — “Your baby’s documents after birth”.
For foreigners: payment and documents
The clinic works mainly with Galeno members (plans 220–550), as well as OSDE and OMINT; from June 2026 OSDE also added it to plans 210, 260 and Flux. Terms for private patients without insurance and prices are not published — ask for a quote through the doctor or administration. How to get pregnancy cover — “Health insurance in pregnancy”.
What to ask before signing
- whether they accept private patients without Galeno, OSDE or OMINT;
- whether a TPR room and an epidural are available at any time of day;
- what the package includes: birth, anaesthesia, paediatrician, nights in the room, companion;
- the price of a caesarean and of a day in neonatology — almost never in the base price;
- whether the doctor’s and midwife’s fees are separate from the clinic;
- the deposit amount, currency and when it is returned;
- how birth registration works and whether a sworn translator is needed.
